The museum's mission is to create historical awareness and understanding of cultural and historical evidence as protected cultural and historical monuments, to teach respect for one's neighbor the surroundings, its inhabitants, local customs and traditions, to promote local patriotism and pride in one's region.
The museum expositions and thematic exhibitions reflect the history of Bauska in the 20th century, creating an image of the cultural and historical environment of Zemgale, economic and cultural diversity in Bauska.
Bauska Museum's permanent exhibition of toys is the only one in Latvia that reveals the world of toys and dolls from the 19th century. until the end of the 21st century for the beginning.
