Recommended for ages 12+ Down, down, down. .. Alice and her sister throw stones in the river bored. A moment later, there is already a cup of black tea in front of her, in which she washes the same pebbles. The White Rabbit arrives uninvited and tempts her to climb into the desk drawer, and the girl gives in. Down, down, down... Arriving in Wonderland, a dreamy odyssey begins - she meets a sock with prosthetics, experiences a flood in a small room and moves closer and closer to the court of the Queen and King of Hearts. Dolls, strings, keys, cans, stuffed animals and glass eyes - it's all more alive than alive! A surrealist evening story with gothic twists for grown-up children. The idea of interpreting the character of Alice created by Lewis Carroll has never really left Švankmajer - after short films in the 70s and 80s, in which he brought to life the vertebrae of the world created by the writer, he wanted to return to "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" (1865). He considered this work to be the greatest book created by civilization. Defying the fact that Alice's Adventures is most often depicted in the fairy tale genre, the winner of the best feature award at the Annecy Film Festival is a radical dream experience - the irrational lyricism will overwhelm even those who are dormant in the deepest realism.
