Recommended from the age of 16 Lilja comes to visit relatives whom she has never really met in her life . Staying in their modern house, the 18-year-old girl hopes to pass her cello auditions. Grandma Aurora's religious rituals and her uncle's suspicious state of health raise doubts in the young girl - despite her aunt's objections, Lilja decides to stay longer in this surreal house. However, the hidden gradually comes to the surface - a danger that the girl was warned about in advance. Silence is accompanied by fear, and vice versa. A mystical work steeped in water motifs, mythological and cultism, as well as half-whispers, which combines a coming-of-age story with a psychological thriller. Islandieties Stefansdottir's first feature film, which premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival's debut screening "Bright Future", is one of the most compelling and intriguing works of Nordic cinema this year. In it, the genre serves as a mirror (and also visually - water) surface that illuminates the contours of a dysfunctional family, community or society without losing the universal and hypnotizing.
