We recommend from the age of 16. In the peaks of the Little Himalayas and in the rarefied mountain air, young Pam spends her days at home. Taking the beloved Tashi and his brothers as husbands - one of them is a Buddhist monk, and the other is still a child - in polyandry, or polygamous union, there is hope for the future. Their family lives harmoniously in the village, where the husbands honor and care for Pam's well-being. However, unexpectedly, husband Tashi disappears without a trace while going to the city of Lhasa. Has the rumor about Pam being pregnant and possibly not his child getting to him? The girl, fighting for justice, is ready to go and look for her husband. Will her search turn into the oasis of holy peace called in Tibetan Buddhism?
One of the biggest events of this year's festivals – a contemporary odyssey of self-discovery steeped in Nepali traditions. A girl, a horse, a yak, a couple of western cultural trinkets, a monk, prophecies in dreams and looking "in the eyes of reality", as one of the characters calls it. The allegorical, visually breathtaking and crystal-clear purposeful cinematic fable is a picturesque Buddhist western with masterfully interwoven threads of detective and emancipation. Director Bahadur Bam, who is studying Buddhist philosophy, political science and anthropology at the doctorate level, is a pioneer of Nepali cinema – his films were shown in Venice, he was once nominated for an Oscar and he is also the first Nepali filmmaker whose latest feature film entered the main competition at the Berlinale.
