Recommended from the age of 16 Lūkas has won. After the wrestling match, his family welcomes him - his wife Ernesta is full of concern, not hiding her tears and relief, but it seems that nothing has really changed in her son's life. Going with his wife's sister Juste's family to celebrate her husband Tomas' birthday, parallels and a quiet rivalry develop between the two families. In the lake house, vacationers enjoy an idyll, discuss money and mow the grass - it is interrupted by an accident, after which the two families will no longer live as before.

The paradox – especially the “drowning” after swimming in the title – is only one element of the gradually unfolding mystery. The internationally acclaimed, prolific Lithuanian director Bareiša, who won the best film award for "Pilgrims" (2021) at the "Horizons" screening of the Venice Film Festival, wades deeper and deeper into the family model. The work, awarded with two prizes in the main competition of Locarno, created by the Latvian studio "Trickster Pictures", visually approaches a sun-drenched horror film about a prophecy in an average family. The early nature of the camera (operator Bareisha himself) reveals that loss and victory can never be separated from each other. This revelation makes the mirror-like surface of the water tremble.
