Eva's work in prison is everything - the beginning and end of the day, refuge and determination. Inside the gray reinforced concrete walls, she meticulously cares and provides rehabilitation opportunities. When he learns that Mikel is in the highest security sector, he is unexpectedly confronted by his past. Incited by the past, her obsession with the convict takes hold. Eva advertises herself for a job in the serious crime zone, or "Center Zero". Once there, she single-handedly assumes the role of judge, while Mikel faces his greatest punishment. The secret kept by Eva threatens the safety of both of them.
Finely scrolled thriller about acceptance of the past and the darkest plots of revenge - in which the Swede Meller works already on the scale of the mise-en-scène. The work presented in the main competition of the Berlinale chillingly and uncompromisingly reveals the film's dramaturgical entanglement - it is "unwound" by the Danish actress Sise Babette Knudsen (the cult TV series "Government" (2010-2022)). She has created a full-blooded character whose ethical decisions stand alongside Electra and a number of other prophets of justice in ancient dramas. Illuminating the corridors of the psyche, the work rhetorics: after crime and punishment, are we ready not so much to forgive, but to live with our offenders?
