Įbova Karetnikova (Skrebec) after graduating from the Jāzeps Vītolas Academy of Music of Latvia (in the class of Krishjans Norvelis) and studying in Vilnius (in the vocal class of the great singer Irēna Milkevičūtes) is currently interning at the famous Mozarteum in Salzburg, where she continues to hone her skills with the legendary stage artists Barbara Bonijas and Wolfgang Holzmayr.

Her debut role was Gilda in a production of Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto at the Theater Hof. Then followed Nanette in Verdi's "Falstaff", Barbarin in Mozart's opera "The Marriage of Figaro" and Maria Bernstein's "West Side Story".
