Aurelia Shimkus has participated in the festivals "Interlaken Classics", "Next Generation Festival", "Kisingen Summer", Kurt Weil Festival, Bonn Schuman Festival, "Tomorrow's Masters" festival and more. She has performed with the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, Kaunas Philharmonic Orchestra, State Choir “Latvia”, England Chamber Orchestra, Warsaw Symphony Orchestra, Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra, Georgia Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Orphum Rhinema-Phalca Philharmonic Orchestra, etc.
When Aurelia performed at the Bonn Schuman Festival dedicated to Clara Schuman in 2019, the organizers of the festival emphasized the fact that Aurelia also composed, thus pulling parallels with the personality and life of the new Clara Schuman.
An international attention for the pianist was carried by the year 2013, when German recording company Ars Products released her solo album "Scherzo" and the magazine Piano News their recognition as the monthly album. For his second solo album "Bach. Ich Ruf 'Zu Dir" with the compositions of Bach, Lista and Buzoni, Aurelia won the German phonoacademia "Echo Klassik" prize in the "New Artist" prize in 2016.
The very first solo concert was given by Aurelia Shimkus at the age of eleven at the Kaunas International Chamber Music Festival. At the age of 15, she was invited to participate in the Pavierolymp competition in Badkisingen, where she won 3rd place. In 2014, she received a scholarship of the Dortmund Mozart Society, which provided the opportunity to play in many places in Germany. She was invited to participate in the Epanian Piano Academy in Italy, where the master class traditions started by pianist Arturo Benedeti-Micelangele.
At Emil Dārziņš Music High School, Aurelija Šimkus studied with prof. Sergey Osokina. Since 2017, she has been studying at Cologne Music and Dance University with prof. Claudio Martines Mener, as well as Dominica Merle, Bernda Geckes, Pavel Gililov, Ien Fonten.
