Venice - music on the water
September 20 at 8pm
Riga St. Paul's Church (1 Deglava Street)
The music program "Venice Music on the Water", performed by the string quintet, focuses on the brilliance and subtlety of the European Grand Masters.
Venetian violinist and composer Antonio Vivaldi's mastery, George Friedrich Handel's solemn "Water Music", as well as Nikolo Paganini's virtuoso works - "Venice Carnival" and Capris no. 24 - accurately embodies the musical spirit of Venice: its carnival culture, stage luxury and theatricality.
The program also does not miss the genre, which is closely linked to the Venetian music tradition - Tarantella, Barcarol and Chancellor.
"Venice - Music on the Water" is a virtuosity festival and a subtle -balanced genre play where the classic form intertwines with Italian expression and lyricism, creating a continuous musical flow - just like water in the Venice channels.
