The band Hurts will perform in Sigulda in August

On August 14, the duo Hurts, masters of elegant melancholy, will perform on the stage of the ruins of Sigulda. This will be the group's only concert in all the Baltic countries.

In August 2010, the debut album "Happiness" of the Manchester band so popular in Latvia was also released. It soon hit the top of the charts in many European countries, making the group one of the most successful of that year. The album's lead singles Stay, Wonderful Life, Better Than Love, Illuminated, Blood, Tears & Gold are still relevant and in radio rotation.

Hurt was founded in Manchester in 2009 by vocalist Theo Hutchcraft and multi-instrumentalist Adam Anderson. The band's business card has become an elegant, slightly alienated style of dressing, great melodies, more characteristic of the 80s than today, often gloomy, but intriguing textual mood, which is enhanced by vocals interwoven with pain and despair. You can't deny the importance of the elegant videos, which are often characterized by surprising plot twists.

Since its release in 2010, more than 2 million copies of "Happiness" have been sold in total, ranking the album in Germany, Switzerland, In the 1st place or at least in the top ten of the charts of Austria, Finland, Luxembourg and some other countries. In Latvia, the record reached the 2nd place. In total, this disc won 16 platinum and 7 gold awards.

“It was like an innocent conception. One after the other, the 12 songs were written in roughly the same order [as on the album]. It was as if they were breaking out of us by themselves," Theo and Adams remember. "Since then, each of these songs has lived a million lives. They have traveled to every corner of the world, taking us with them on this journey.

The success of the group was strengthened by the following albums "Exile" (2013), "Surrender" (2015), "Desire ” (2017) and “Faith” (2020). As well as a series of music and video awards.
