The show features:

The twists and turns of fate take the world-famous actress Maria to a foreign country, where she receives an offer to work in a theater. A new leader has come to power in this country, people believe in a brighter and more just future, because everyone is promised equality. But how it will be achieved, no one says.

Rudolfs Blaumanis's play "Ugunī" has been staged in the theater - another performance is expected. However, theater actors start disappearing mysteriously. The audience is full, but the actors are fewer and fewer. But the show goes on.

Maria believes she can play in such a way that the impact of the performance will change the course of history. But she does not make it to the finale of Blaumanis's play, because another director takes over the theater. The kind of director who plays with the line between life and death and does so literally and not figuratively. The battle between art and seemingly unstoppable evil begins.

In the context of the performance, there is a reference to real 1937/1938. to the events of 2008, when almost all employees of the Latvian theater "Skatuve" were arrested in Moscow.
