1984. year, the time before Christmas. When the single mother Nina and her sons were looking for a spruce in the dusty forest, there was no indication that the celebration would be preceded by a Chaplin incident and a new job. She starts her career as a journalist in the local newsroom - her most successful article so far has been about a sock that fell into an abalone during an ice fishing competition. Soon, news of a Soviet nuclear missile falling into a local lake shakes the village. Starting a relationship with pilot Kai and investigating what happened, Nina experiences a clash of personal and national interests. What is it really like - which boundaries are inviolable?
